I would think that by the middle of 2007 the world has been saturated by the brand's advertising imagery that this illustrative style just comes off as derivative.
Your edges are too blocky.
the background has nothing to do with the illustration and the black is too rough

Is the top of the lightening bolt black? Or is that just a tangent with another shape? I think it detracts.
