Image editing and color separation course
Ivan | Tue, 2005-04-05 14:36I'm looking for an advanced course on image editing in general and most importantly color separation. I want a deeper understanding of color profiles and calibration of devices. Anybody can suggest a course or place one can learn such things? Tx

Many useful articles about color management. I hope it helps.
I have been working with color management for years. I was a Beta tester back when Monoco was a photoshop plug-in. This is one of the best books I have found, and it is writen with a sense of humor as well.

Been looking for one too.
My advice is use your immagination and never trust technology. And if it comes out wrong, tell the custommer that's how you intended it! ;)

Well, here is a funny one for ya: - Spent a couple good hours today on this...
So I had this lady scanned and had to place her on a nice background. Did a sweet crop job, got her on the bacground but since I have a cheap scanner I had to adjust saturation, brightness, and some color levels. No problems. Got it looking how I wanted in photoshop and placed it in Quark. Made a press PDF to proof the look of the page and she comes out as if she stood in the sun for a good couple of days. Skin is super brown...
Go back to Photosho. Print from Photoshop... picure looks ok. Print from quark or PDF and she is bronzed up to the bone. Fix the layer adjustments... nothing.. maybe even worse...
After a couple of hours of pulling my hair.... I look at the picture in Photoshop at the title and I had left it in RGB. DUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! (Flatten down layer adjustments and put in CMYK and badabing badaboom, problem solved!)
