Indesign and Page Numbering

We are all familiar on how to create auto pagination in the Master Page.

This is how I do mine: "Page A"

My question is... How do I automate the following... "Page X of Y"

As mentioned, I can automate the "Page X" however, I am looking to automate the "of Y" part. This is so that I do not manually retype the "Y" whenever I add or delete a page.

Thank You.

I don't believe you can automate the "of Y", but honestly, if this is on the master page and you haven't overridden or detached your page numbers on individual pages, that is a 5 second change (going to the master page, deleting the Y and then adding new Y). Now if you have 30 master pages and none are based on each other, then it might take a lot longer, but if you do a find and replace, you can change that pretty quickly, just be specific (i.e. Find "of 10" in such and such a font and replace it with "of 12").

Hope that helps.
