InDesign CS2 - Page numbering
scud-eater (6 pencils) | Wed, 2007-09-05 09:43I'm trying to apply 3-digit page numbers to a document. The doc will have over 800 pages but I want the early pages to be numbered with 3-digits also (001, 002, 023 etc).
I'm using auto page-numbering in the master pages.
I can't find a way of doing this as of yet. Is it possible or is it an oversight on behalf of the adobe team?

You just have to tell ID to do it. Just make a trip to the Pages panel and click the flyout menu and select Numbering & Section options. From there, you should be able to do what you want.

Cheers. Not any advance on what I had though. I've went for a work around which means I start a section from page 1 and set the '00' as a prefix. Then from page 10 I start another section with a '0' prefix. I then set page 100 as a new section without a prefix.
The doc will be going to print in sections a lot smaller than 100 pages tho so I'll just have to use the above method to adapt to what I'm faced with at the time.
Still no completely automatic solution yet.
