InDesign CS4 Help

We have just started using CS4 at work and I am having a very annoying problem that I have no idea how to fix. Every time I place an image, it shows up extremely tiny...about 1% instead of at 100%. I have to go in and manually change the image size back up to 100%. ANY information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I should mention that I don't normally use the frame box to place pictures, so I just tried that and the picture places at 100% inside the frame. Of course, I would rather not use the frames...

Thanks!

What happens when you create a rectangle and place into that? (Rectangle Tool rather than Frame tool)

I wonder if you've mistakenly set a default... Try placing the image, resizing it to 100%, deleting it right away and then trying to place it again. This might reset the default.

Then again, it might do nothing.

What size are your images?

natobasso: The ones I was placing today were about 4x6 - 5x7 @ 300 dpi; however, when I place them freely into InDesign they are placed extremely small...about 1% of original size. I then have to expand the frame and click the picture with the direct selection tool, and increase it's percentage back to 100%.

Spigot: I fear you are right about accidentally setting some kind of default. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to unset it! I will try your suggestion tomorrow. It is so frustrating. If I create a box using the frame tool, they place fine. So if I MUST, I will use that.

Luckily at home my settings are fine. I wonder if I could copy those settings (presets?) can install them at work??

Hmm, I just tried placing an image from yesterday and it seems to be working right now. I have no idea why, since I did nothing different this morning. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will stay this way. thanks again for your suggestions!
