indesign CS: <tags>??

hello listers,

we switched from PM to INDD happily, but our editorial stuff is left with old school text formatting in word for pagemaker. i mean all these good , tags.
we cannnot figure out how these tags work in indesign?? what have changed in CS, and what we should do with word files, to handle indd paragraph styles automatically??

thanks in advance,

Zydrius.

Well InDesign automatically keeps all of Words styles intact unless you tell it not to. Before you import a Word doc in InDesign Place dialog box there is a checkbox in the lower right corner called Show Import Options. If that is checked then before the Word document is imported, you have options to keep all the formatting or you can tell InDesign not to keep the formatting.

Hope that helps
