InDesign help needed

I'm printing a poster on an Epson 4000 that I created in InDesign and I'm having a problem trying to turn off the printers paper cutter. I can't find any function in InDesigns printer preset to enable this and when I turn it off in the driver InDesign seems to turn it back on when I get back to InDesigns print box to print. I'm using version 3.0.
Any help would be appreciated.
Paul

Have you tried just taking the cutter out? I'm assuming it's replaceable.

Looks like the printer has an onboard screen. Can you scroll through features and turn off the auto-cutting feature?

The printer does have a screen that gives you the 'turn off auto cut' feature and I have it set up and it hasn't helped.

why do you want to turn off the paper cutter?

I've been using Photo Rag 308 which is too heavy for the printer to cut. Epson has told me that it puts a lot of wear and tear on it and I believe them just listening to the cutting action.
Thanks to those who have replied, I'm wondering if a newer version of InDesign might help, don't know though...

looks like there is an update I can try, do you know if this will alter the custom color profiles I have installed?

Save the profiles just in case.
