InDesign Hidden Characters

I teach high school graphic design, and I am getting into typography. My goal is to have the students critique one another in regards to their typesetting skills. I want them to be able to print the hidden characters so they can see exactly how the type is set. Does anyone know of a plugin that would allow it, or another way to get these characters to print?
