Indesign- "lost ability to duplicate pages...why?"
Submitted by designbyjez on Thu, 2008-07-31 10:36.
hello
just a quick one...
for some reason I cannot find the command that will allow me to duplicate a page in Indesign (CS3) i used to just either go to the options tab in the pages pallet or cntrl +click on the page icon in order to bring up a small menu window.
Now when I do this, the command to duplicate a page is missing from the list of options.
I have restarted the application twice and it makes no difference. My Mac is the only one in the studio that is doing this..anyone out there know why? and how do I return it to how it was??
Thanks
Jez
Try This
Select the page in the pages palette. Access the small menu top-right, and Duplicate Spread.

Or simply...
... Go to the pages pallette, hover over a page, press Atl and drag a page to create a new one.
Yet another way...
Click and drag the page you want to duplicate over the "New Page" icon in the lower portion of the page panel.

ok, it works now but not as usual...
thanks for all your tips. these are all the ways that I had used before.
the trouble I had and still have, is that the 'duplicate page option' is just not visible when I first open the menu options
In fact, if I open any pull down menu or tab I see an option (usually the last one in the list) which says "show all menu items". I have to click on this to be able to view the full range of menu options - one of which is 'duplicate page'
the annoying thing is I have to click on this everytime now on any menu bar just to see all the ful list of menu items. It;s very annoying and never used to be like this. How do I get it to go back to normal??
My other 2 Mac's are not doing this (both Indesign CS3) why is this one?
