Indesign page numbering problem

I have created an extensive document in InDesign CS2. The layout is in facing pages. For some reason, the first page (cover) is numbered page 2 and so on throughout, so page 5 is numbered page 6. When I print page 6, it prints page 7. What is this and how can I straighten it out?

Thanks.

Look in the Page Numbering settings. Check they are correct - sounds like they are set to number from p2 - pX.

Alternatively, delete the page number on the cover, then the page numbers will re-flow automatically?

The page numbering setting did the trick. Thanks a million.

I am working in CS4. I have a very long document and have it divided into sections. The first section starts properly on page 1. I want the following sections to start using later page numbers. I cannot figure out how to designate a different start number than 1. Please advise. Thanks
