InDesign to Quark Conversion...
thornysarus (926 pencils) | Mon, 2005-04-18 22:33First, please don't giggle, but yes. I need a way to convert InDesign to Quark. I've searched the net and have yet to find anything useful.
Here's the skinny: We dumped Quark when ID was released for many reasons and have never looked back. Today I secured a contract with a major publisher doing some layout for their sales catalog. The catch is, the finals have to be in quark (that is until they do switch to ID "sometime in the last quarter."
So I'm looking for something that will allow us to continue to use ID until they make the switch on their end.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

How about sending them a different file format? I know this is not the best, but how about high res PDFs or even high-res Tiffs of the actual pages? (Including bleeds and all of course.) Whenever I encounter compatibility problems with printers, I just find a way to send them a different file format. If worked properly, and at a high enough res., the final print should come out 95%-100% the same way as if it was from a quark file.

Thanks. Both suggestions are helpful.
