INMAA Logo
khshahen (37 pencils) | Fri, 2006-11-24 16:59One of my clients asked for a new brand for his new investment and equity funds company and here is my first choice. C&C are most welcome. BTW, the word "INMAA" in Arabic stands somehow for "development" "increment" "return on investment".

I'm not a designer, but the first thing I noticed was the Arabic font used. Are you allowed to change it as part of the new identity? If yes, then please give it a try.
Some of the ad agencies I worked with speak of a Logo Type, which I badly need, I feel it's as important as the logo. It would be nice if the logo type complemented the logo.

Thank you Waleed for your input. Basically, the client asked for 3 things. One, a stand alone shape to act as a prime ID. Two, he asked for a combination of a shape and type-face. Third, he asked for two versions an Arabic and English, and this is what we ended up with.

Hi khshahen
Could you please reveal a bit more on what drove the design of the logo? I like the shape but has problems interpreting it.
Marty,
The shape simply was built around three things:
1- Business Building Blocks
2- Return on Investment (the loower shape was trimmed and the upper one is not..meaning we can grow your investment, "You start with $$ you end up with $$$.
3- The 3D shape = The state of being complete and entire; having everything that is needed.
The two elements here, the gold logo and the typeface you've chosen for the English acronym and "Equity Funds" don't seem to me to be a good match. Optima is too elegant and lightweight for that sold, angular logo.
You might want to try Ross New Style, which would "play" nicely with the angles in the logo. If you worked with the logo a little bit, you could even insert it into Ross as a substitute for the M. I did a little research and found that my version of RossNS looks nothing like Ross fonts now available online. It was a free font I acquired over 10 years ago. I'd be happy to share it with you if you'd like to try it. Just e-mail me. Here, without any attempt at art, is how your text would look in it:

Mara,
Thank you for your comment. I will give it a try and let you know..Your point is still valid, but frankly speaking I hate bold typefaces:).

I love Optima, by the way. It looks elegant by itself. I just think its subtle curves aren't the best compliment for your logo. Maybe Felix Titling or something like that. Neat logo, though. I'm sure you'll pull it together. Thanks for letting me play!

I notice the logo (the gold item above the "M") is crooked. Can you align it's top and bottom corners? It will then be more symmetrical, and less distracting to the eye. otherwise I like.

Dirt and Rust
Hi, I must agree with the others that it is a very nice design and I agree that the fonts seem to be weak for the concept in both the arabic and english. I like the 3D shape (I agree with nathaniel it is a bit slanted to the left-perhaps intentional?) Also why dont you try to add some kind of a drop shadow at the buttom? to make it look like its lifted higher.... or even raise it a bit higher in the arabic word inmaa?
Good luck.
Thank you folks, your comments and suggestion are so great. Currently, I'm working on a second sketch. the minute it's ready i'll do my best to post here.

Khalid
Private equity fund is a pooled investment vehicle used for making investments in various equity (and to a lesser extent debt) securities according to one of the investment strategies associated with private equity. Private equity funds are typically limited partnerships with a fixed term of 10 years (often with annual extensions). At inception, institutional investors make an unfunded commitment to the limited partnership, which is then drawn over the term of the fund.
