Get a Simple Desktop
Ivan | Fri, 2010-07-09 13:36A nice and simple desktop is not only inspiring but helps you find your files quickly too. I recommend you change it regularly to keep your screen fresh. Here are a couple of great desktops from Simple Desktops.

Really cool desktops there. I was already using something similar, usually pieces of logo's which weren't picked by clients, and then placed in an abstract way, but above examples are really cool too.

i never have understood why people put images on their desktops.
1. if your computer is on, something should be filling the screen anyway
2. if youre a designer and work with color. you dont want other peripheral colors effecting your perception of whats on the screen.
neutral, dull grey for me!
Good point!
Yup - I'm a grey desktop person too. My office is all neutral tones as well - for the same reason. So if you insist on having artwork of some kind, it should be neutral tones only - so maybe something like this...
Looks like someting Mac-people would do!

I am not Steve Ballmer pretending not to be me!
My favourite right now: Has a calming effect and it comes in handy! It also makes file/folder names hard to read which keeps me on top of desktop maintenance.
