You need to read between the lines. Windows will NOT run on the MacBook or iMac right out of the box. Apple is using "mac-specific" firmware, rather than the standard BIOS that Windows looks for to operate. Apple stated that they aren't doing anything to stop you from running Windows... but they said it because it makes them look good and they already know Windows won't run on it to begin with.

I'm sure in time someone will come up with a hack to make it work, but I suspect that it won't be as easy as just clicking a button to choose which OS the computer boots up.

OK. Thanks for the correction. I would not mind a hack to be able to do it. Of course an Apple supported solution would be the best.

I would love to see at the very least a System Preference (much like the Startup Disk one) that allows you to choose what OS to boot from.

I suspect that Microsoft will adjust something in Windows to allow it to run on the Macs because they don't really care what hardware you use to run Windows... all they see it as is another potential Windows user.

Will we ever escape these "which is faster" comparisons? ;-)

Windows Vista WILL be able to boot up on Macs because it has support for BIOS and the newer EFI firmware (Windows XP doesn't support EFI).
