interactive agency logo
tonyvz (107 points) | Thu, 2008-07-17 13:50Logo for an interactive agency. Strong emphasis on accessible design, want to portray a youthful, organic feeling through their identity. Client wanted to emphasize the A.I. initials of the name.
Do you like it? What colors do you like?

The "i" in the symbol has a double meaning, it's obviously the letter "i" but it also represents a person or an avatar, for those that don't know what an avatar is, it's one of 10 incarnated human/animal forms of the hindu Supreme Being Vishnu.
I love the logotype but not the icon. Try to make the icon something other than "a" and "i" put together. Get creative!

I actually love the icon. I really like as Tony pointed out the double meaning, whether or not you intended that I'm not sure, but it works perfect with the name "avatar".
Personally I like the blue version better as I think that portrays youth much better than bold red.
I am curious how it would look with the "i" next to the a, instead of joined with it, I think you might be able to play up the "person" quality of it better that way. But I do like it a lot as it stands.
Nice, for a moment I wanted to critique you on the fact that it looks like a dude in a wheelchair... but I guess that works.

I like the lettering below the mark, but the mark isn't working for me. Having such a tall mark might present problems, as well. Also, I dislike it when people just combine letters for a mark. It works pretty well for names of people, but I think there are other options.
I was aware of the Hindu reference of avatar -- however, in a more computerized generation, a lot of people think of the icon next to their names in forums as an avatar, or the television show on Nickelodeon. You might want to think about that.

Try thickening the icon to give it some more sturdiness. I like it otherwise!
thanks for the comments guys.
Tedams:
yes, the double meaning of the "i" was intentional. I'm glad you like it.
Stephanie:
I'm usually not one for using the initials of a company or person's name as a symbol but we wanted to push the hole A.I. initials of this, again because of its double meaning of Artificial Intelligence, which is associated with new technologies which is a field we're in.
We realize people might not know the Hindu meaning of avatar, but there will be taglines / stationary / web designs to strengthen this meaning, also, we're probably going to have a nice "websters" style definition of "avatar" on the homepage, the designs still aren't finalized yet though.
looks like we're going with orange, in case anyone cares. LOL.
I'll be sure to post the site when e're finished with it!
Any other options for the icon instead of the boring "ai"?

1. Using a dictionary definition for the company name is really over-used and old now.
2. If you have to explain your company name, you've got a problem.

...the logo isn't clear.
It could be an 'a' it could be a 'd' I didn't even see the 'i' at first.
I like it but it's not right, needs refinement, you've got a concept but it needs work to make it more legible.
