hey Terry! thx for the post. i think this poster is great because it's xmassy, cyber and retro all at the same time. i also like the direct color technique. btw, here is the post about the exploded dots.

nice work! btw, how do you get the ink splashes effect? special brushes?

Ink Splatters etc: Take several pieces of poster board, lay them all flat in the back yard, get a bucket of black paint and a brush (analog paint brush) and start slinging. Let them dry, take several hi-res photos of each and layer accordingly in Photoshop.
Some of these posters are like 3x4 feet @ 300 ppi. There's no way photoshop brushes could render at this resolution requirement. Plus, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun slinging paint.
