Steve Jobs said once you add a stylus you've lost the battle.
Designers use stylus at Wacom tablets connected at macs everyday, where's the battle?
Elder people make a lot of mistakes on tinny touch commands, they prefer stylus too.
you don't need to follow all of Steve's life deceptions.
Apple and Steve made a lot of mistakes until now. All of them are caused by ignoring what people want to use or not. Remember the iPad lock rotation switch case and a lot of other examples like all failed Apple social media projects.
I follow ergonomics.
iPad is established, there's no need to fear but the Newton' ghost still lives and Samsung reigns because they copy Apple products and have a big plus: they listen what people want.

I think the context there is average folks, not designers or other professional uses.

i guess steve doesnt kern characters or manipulate bezier control points ; )
tablets and touchscreens are going to have to get a LOT bigger before you no longer need some form of precise control. at least for the work we do...
Just relating the info. He was referring to the iPhone if I remember right. It's in his book.
yeah. i remember when he said that. and i get his point. but i used a stylus with my old palmOS based phone (forget what it was called) and didnt feel like i was compromising the integrity of the device...
how about a compromise? we make iOS recognize fingernails?
That I've always found odd as per touch screens, do they work with some sort of heat-tracking technology? Why isn't it possible for finger nails to typically work?
