iPhoto Book anyone?
Do the images for iPhoto Book need to be sRGB or Adobe rgb?
is there a way to get the new layouts with iPhoto 4?
Are there any other alternatives? The new layouts and formats of
iPhoto 5 seems great! Ilike the smaller sized soft cover books a lot.
I checked a few other ones like Ofoto but the layouts sucks!

You need iPhoto 5. I've done quite a few books, they all turned out great. Image type doesn't matter so long as iPhoto can handle it.

god I love iLife so much, I think its underused by mac pros (except for itunes) its really great, im interested to know the quality of iPhoto books... i'll talk to you about it on ichat ;)

from what I can remember I think http://www.mypublisher.com/ is the company that produces the books for Apple. They do not however offer software for macs, only windows.
I have had mixed results ordering books but once I complained and Apple replaced it for free.
iPhoto Book resolution hack
I just found this very important info about
hacking the iPhoto book default resolution.
It seems that for some images the default res is only @ 150 dpi!!
With this little app you can modify all defaults to 300 dpi :)

The priting with that hack (see the above post) came out great but
a few full bleed pages are crooked and a white
"triangle" shows up...ShiT! So I have to return it!

iPhoto books are great...
I've ordered several and always been pleased with the quality. I was looking for a way to get the templates out and posted to Flickr. First you print a PDF. Then, there is a great automator action to convert the PDF to JPG. Here's the link to the action: http://www.automatorworld.com/2005/06/03/convert-pdf-to-jpeg/
Once at Flickr, I was able to put the shots into a set, viewable as a slideshow. Here's the link to our latest book:
