iPod Nano and Firewire

Does anyone know the best way to connect an iPod nano to an older Powerbook which only has USB 1.1 and FireWire?

The closet I've found so far is a hub from Macally that seems to act as a conduit for using the USB 2 connector with my FireWire port but seems a bit pricey for what I need. There must be a cheaper solution but haven’t found it yet.
