that does it... i need a ipod photo!
How will that work? Will the iPod have a list of cameras with which it is compatible?
it says it's coming in March, let's hope we gonna have some more info on that. i think this is just awesome and a very strong selling point for the iPods. even the small ones for hobby use is useful. imagine if you have a small 64MB card and you can download your picts to your 1GB iPod shuffle.
"The new iPod Camera Connector is an optional accessory that enables customers to connect their digital camera to iPod photo and import their photos into the iPod. By simply connecting the iPod Camera Connector and a digital camera*, customers can easily transfer digital images to their iPod photo, providing tremendous storage space so they can take more pictures. Imported photos are immediately viewable on iPod photo's crisp color screen, and can also be brought back to iPhoto(R) on the Mac or various photo applications on the PC. The iPod Camera Connector is expected to be available in late March for $29."
Some company (the name fails me at the moment) makes a iPod/flash card connector. A friend of mine took a trip to China and used his iPod to download and store his pictures (over a thousand) on.
Belkin has a Flash card reader, but it's not as cool as connecting your camera directly.
Belkin also makes one for connecting cameras directly, but it cost about $80, not much cheaper than the card reader. Apple's connector looks much smaller and cheaper. I will definitely be getting one!

That's crappy. I just bought an iPod mini and was hoping to do this. Oh well, guess I have to go third party on it.
