Is this something?

Well I was asked to do a table menu for a new cafe - restaurant in the center of Antwerp. They target a young urban public, but don't want to upset their older customers. The café is in the center of the old part of Antwerp where a lot of tourists come but also the natives. It has been a while since I have been creating things like this. Is it worth anything or do you say Beuh

Overall I think it's cool.
Overall I think it's cool. Some points:
I don't understand the little orange dots between the two columns.
Coca-Cola spelled with a dash. :)
I think "Drinks" is very important and should be highlighted more.
The plaque on the bottom right looks strange and out of place. Can you do without?
Thanks
well the little orange dots are a vertical breaker and they are in the same font as the logo. I just wanted to make a separation between the two colums.
Drinks could do with a little more, indeed. But Zafino is such a delicate font.To emphase it isn't that easy. Sometimes it becomes easyly overdone. Maybe just changing the color could do it.
Well the rounded square in the corner is just a placeholder. There I want the adress and some more info about the café. And as always I'm still waiting for that.
Anyway thanks for the response
I think you should replace
I think you should replace the vertical dots with a thin line. The dots make it a bit messy. And "drinken" should be aligned with the 1st list.
Column separation
I think the separation dots would be okay if screened back. Otherwise, I like it!
3 columns
I love the look and feel of this but feel the actual layout isn't well organised enough for a menu. Remember it your price lists don't have to line up at the top.
I feel that it would work better with 3 column grid.
Then you could have a shorter orange panel at the bottom with more white space around it. You could also bring the prices closer to the name which will help with the overall balance. Just a thought.
What if you change the
What if you change the background to a light cream color, the white background seems rather stark (even for a menu). Or maybe some kind of graphic, with a real low opacity of course. Just a few ideas.

thanks for the comments
I changed some details of the setup, mainly the vertical ruling. I still kept it in a two colum layout because of the top logo. I feel that three colums don't go with it. About the background well that could have been a possibility but They just want it very cheap and be able to change the content. So printing on a low quality printer would interfere with a transparent background. Often the quality of a print with transparency is very poor.
Thank you
You can't appeal to young
You can't appeal to young folks without upsetting the older ones! ;) Young people like small fonts and innovation. Old folks like big fonts and the same thing they've been used to for years.
Your clients need to pick one market and go for that -- this will take some fortitude on their part.

Zapfino Assignment
Hey I'm studying at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga, New Zealand, a the moment we're studying typography which requires us to choose a typeface and complete an in depth study..
As you have used Zapfino (my chosen typeface) in your design of a menu above, I wondered if i could have permission to use the image above in my assignment as an example of other designers using it.. just email me if you want, and if you have a few minutes, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what you think of the typeface Zapfino.
Thanks,
Hayley (email )
