The old bromide that promises you can't get a computer virus by looking at an image file crumbled a bit further Tuesday when Microsoft announced a critical vulnerability in its software's handling of the ubiquitous JPEG graphics format. The security hole is a buffer overflow that potentially allows an attacker to craft a special JPEG file that would take control of a victim's machine when the user views it through Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word, and other programs. The poisoned picture could be displayed on a website, sent in email, or circulated on a P2P network.

ACK! *cough* *chork* *spittle* Use *choke* Mozilla *cough*
Or carrier pigeons.
Or anything other than Internet Explorer, cripes.
Is the whole Windows/IE combination is that bad? Is it really that full of security holes, or it's just there are so many people trying to find them. I wonder if potentially OS X has that many security holes as well?
Still practically everyone is using IE in the PC world. Is this dangerous for Mac IE users as well?
Did I read that somewhere here??
A virus that spreads thru bitmap for OSX instead of JPG-Windoze XP??

In computer software just like in humans, there is no such thing as perfection. There is always a way to crack/hack a code and find a glitch. OSx can be messed with as well as any other code out there. These are kids that see through the codes in other ways than we, the older generation see. They undestand it where we have to learn it.
