istockphoto.com
adrianionescu (13 pencils) | Tue, 2007-10-02 17:12Has anybody had any experience with iStockphoto.com? Are they paying royalties to designers contributing artwork there, or it's just for free?
Do you know of any other place where I can submit my designs for either a flat fee or comission?
Any suggestion - greatly appreciated,
Adrian

I meant royalties, not commissions...

i've used istockphoto a lot to purchase images but have never submitted anything.
you can find information on submitting photographs to them here

and info on illustrations here

Looks like you earn 'credits' to use in their store rather than getting paid in cash royalties.

i think i read somewhere that you can withdraw money from your account as opposed to just having credit, from what i remember it said you could only take a minimum of $100 out though, so you'd have to be doing well enough for that
I used to use iStock, but nowadays I'm using http://stockxpert.com, especially because this way I'm supporting the people putting up free stuff on http://sxc.hu
You can put up your best work on stockxpert to earn money and your good work on sxc to earn respect and karma. ;)
aye i've used sxc.hu a lot mainly for personal projects. never actually checked out the stockxpert side of it but have been meaning to. generally when i need to get stock photos i'm in a rush so just go directly to istockphoto. must register for sockxpert now and check it out properly.
thaks
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Steockexpert is really great, as they give you half of what sales your designs make. That's what I was looking for.
Cheers,
