i hadn't noticed it, but i also couldn't care less about points.
only thing i've noticed a whole lot more of lately are anon posts.
I don't care about the points either. I'm saying that it's obvious that SOME people do because there are a ton more posts now and the majority are crap.
but they're almost all anonymous, so there are no points involved. there's an anon bumping 2, 3, 4 yr old posts.

Because some people are lazy to sign-up for just a few comments and our spam protection is strong enough to allow this now. At least I'm hoping it is holding up.
to be honest, the quality of anonymous posts is mediocre at best, overall. so the question becomes, are a few good posts worth a lot of bumped posts from 2005?
Not always. I don't mind the anonymous ones. I'm just very anal and afraid I'm going to miss something so I click on all new posts. :)

There has always been a high amount of anonymous commentors at CB, so I guess I'm just used to seeing them (or not seeing them, as the case is for me).
However, the old thread bumping is annoying. I know Wordpress has a feature to not allow comments on posts older than X amount of time - I don't know if there's a plugin for Drupal, but if there is, I hope it gets used here soon!

Technically it is possible. But, what if somebody bumps a post for a good reason? No, really, at least half the time anonymous users bump an old post because they have a question to ask.
What I can promise is that I will delete old bumps if they are of no relevance, so you should not be bothered by them.
