Is it just me or has this site been broken for a crazy long time?
Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Not sure about broken - but it certainly seems like the spammers are taking over.
Our spam filter is fighting off hundreds but still a lot gets through that I have to delete manually. I'm trying to find a better solution, until then I closed down new registrations.
I guess it's a balancing act Ivan - keep on at it ;). Unfortunately the site seems to have been really quiet since the upgrade.
I've been tempted to ask some people on BOTW to post here, but felt it was not my place to say.
incidentally, BOTW critique doesn't seem to get half if any of the amount of spam that CB does, or is it just me?

You're right, we don't have spam there. Much less. But we won't have it here either now. It's now a walled garden. Only people I approve will be able to register.
Is forum/comment span on the rise in general? Seems like every blog I read is shutting off comments just to stop the spam.
Mine definitely is, I have a very low-traffic portfolio site (will occasionally write a blog post on something I feel strongly about) and on a weekly basis I'm having to spam 100% of my comments.
Yes, spam is rising rapidly and the bots are getting smarter. Until there is money to be made on ignorant people who buy stuff on those sites advertised this will go on.
