I am still a student (1 semester left) and am working on a logo before creating a proper website and portfolio book. I am interested in any feedback/criticism/laurels/etc (but mostly feedback and criticism =P) that I might be able to use to improve upon this logo.

To box the logo, I might try adding a period at the end of ostrich (the missing "." from the ostrich's "i" perhaps?); could even try a "picture period" ie. a black feather with a sliver of orange slicing through it.
You could also try tilting the j to give it jaunty look and have its descender come flush with the "r"'s edge.
I'd play with colour selects still...the jolly in black and orange is kind of Halloweeny to me. imo

Thanks for the feedback; I've taken it into account and have 2 new proofs ready; what's the etiquette on these boards for uploading new proofs? Make a new post? or edit the original?
I'm not sure...Some just post a new one for critique and label it part 2.
