The jolly Ostrich Logo proof 2.1
TheJollyOstrich (38 pencils) | Wed, 2009-05-27 21:27This is proof 2.1
It's the same as
proof 2 but this time I added a graphic element to the "o" in 'ostrich.' I don't want to say what it is as I'm interested in your first impressions of what it is (because what good is a graphic element if it's not translated properly?)
Also this one is in green.

your graphic element looks like one of the beatles on a bad hair day

I like this one much better but on the 2 color I would make the whole O in ostrich green other wise I like it much more than the plain type

what is that attached to the "o"? . . .my guess is an ostrich feather, but it's definitely not clear. Kind looks shrimp-ish. :P
The top logo isn't black and white, btw. It's grayscale.
I know I didn't critique any of the other proofs -- but my advise is that with such a fun name, why not come up with a fun mark to go with it? Right now it's an awesome name, and a very boring silhouette of a feather, if that makes sense. You also don't want to attach too much to the text, it makes it hard to read and weighs it down.
Hope that helps :))
It's an Ostrich Plume.
Semantics I say!
You're right, but I feel like I have to balance fun and serious. Too fun could come across childish. No fun defeats the purpose. Too much fun could also equate to too complicated. I've an idea in mind, but I'm not much of an illustrator, so it'll take me some time to get something I'm happy with.
