Just a quickie
vector0 (13 pencils) | Tue, 2008-01-08 23:01Hey everyone - this little number I whipped up last night for my girlfriend. I know it looks rushed (because it was) I just want to get some feedback on how successful this design is despite the time limitation.
Note: you can read the smaller type when viewed full size!

I think this is kind of fun; funky and fresh. I like the bit "For those of you who don't know Sapphire's", but would an actual address be helpful, maybe on the back or something, I wouldn't add it if it totally kills the look though.
Also, as I'm looking at it now, would it add some drama if those transparent blue triangles on the top and bottom, the ones acting as a frame, where black instead of blue, or maybe a darker blue to really hold the invitation on the
page? Just a thought.
Also, how are you getting this to people? Will it be in an envelope? Or via email? or postcard style? Just curious.
But really I like it and I'm sure it will be a blast!
Is Claire a writer? Does she write bodice-rippers? Mystery novels featuring threatening notes with words clipped out of magazines? Is she known for her blue brackets? Can't tell if the design works without some explanation for your choices. It certainly is intriguing. I imagine it would grab attention, and I'm sure that's what you're hoping for :-)
Small note: shouldn't the "Of" of "Of Globe Cafe" be lower case?

Vey nice! The only thing I don't really care for is the brackets...that's about it!

Love this. Only thing I'd change is to make the information on the card larger. Can't read it!

Hahah Claire is well known for her blue brackets! I think when we're old and grey, she'll be demanding I cover the walls of our home with that very same wallpaper pattern - definately her retro/classic style.
@SuziQ - I agree about making more of the brackets, that was an idea I think I might develop further. I'm a big fan of small type too, though in this case (since it's gone out as a bitmap eflyer) like natobasso said, I could have made the address details a bit larger.
Thank you all for the comments.

Love it.
Neo-classic marries mystery romance. Well done.
