Just me.
jmblank (7 pencils) | Sun, 2007-08-19 04:04Hello! I'm pretty new here and this is my first post. I am working at a local college in a small town as an in-house designer. I am starting to do some freelance work so I am trying to pull together a portfolio and identity. I want to just use my name and keep it pretty clean. I don't want it to get too overwrought. I will be using it for business cards, letterhead, ect. I like the idea of having something simple and then complicating it with a process to give it more character, (i.e. gocco printing, letterpress) but it does need to stand on it's own. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I think it works. I like it. :)
nice, simple, straight to the point.
i'm not usually a fan of green, but the green background [bottom left] stands out to me as the strongest.
only problem is that it doesnt' say what you do. That's not necessarily a problem depending on how it's used.

I like the colors, not seen very often, yet well selected. both the selections on the left work really nicely depending on what/where you use them, your black and white one is perfect for things like faxes/invoices etc etc.. nice work

Thanks for the feedback. I am so insular in my little town in Texas, I feel I have no one who can give me objective feedback and there is practically no design community, so I really appreciate this site (Yay Ivan!), and everyone who takes the time to look at the critiques and comment. P.S. (Harrison) I plan on incorporating the "what I do" part in different ways depending what I am using it on as more of a piece of info than part of the identity, thanks for your post. :)
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the collateral.
Love the top left, perfect color selection!
