Just when exactly...

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

You're *now* noticing?
We get people who create their own logos then get them critiqued to save money, we've gotten people who hire designers then post the work up for us to critique. We get people who pay some dude in India to pull off some sub-par work then come to us for advice. We have plagiarizers, copy cats and snotty students. We have people with no interest in design whatsoever or no will to learn design post up shit. We get repeat offenders who shit something out on a computer and post it up expecting us to do the work. We get people who post, get feedback, but totally ignore it. Or how about those who post, get feedback, then do the opposite, or even worse, just disappear. Of course, then you have my personal favorite, the people come for critiques, get said critiques, then go all bitch cakes because we didn't tell them what they wanted to hear. Dude, I can go on and on but to touch upon your question, yes, the quality is suffering so badly, posters are getting so lazy it's no longer funny. More often than not I just find myself putting in as much effort into my comments as the posters are putting into their designs.
Seems like nowadays I'm just here for the comments.

I'm going to print it out and eat it.

It's in waves. Beginners see beginner work and feel secure posting their own. This will break as soon as more professional work is posted.
I forgot there was a critique section here. Haha - I'm just here for the articles and forum.
"Bitch cakes"?
That's why I come here - cuz you learn something new everyday.
I laughed out loud when I red your opening post ;-)

I've got a pretty cool handwritten font called "Bitch Cakes." :)
