Lane's End Flier

Lane's End Flier

This is a redo of a school portfolio project from 2007. The original was bland and uninspired, a lot more went into the process and execution this time around. As always comments are appreciated.

Your design would be nicer if you could make the logos all white and smaller. They are distracting as they are all different from each-other (of course) but making that little change would be more appealing and would link them together. Also there seems to be a contrast problem. Your text is so bright at the top but the rest of the design is so dark and hard to make out. If you work on those 2 things I think the design would feel more accomplished.

Agree with the comments above. i think the text just looks placed in there, it doesn't compliment well with the design. What is this for?

Scrap this one. Nothing worth saving in this artwork.

the middle part of the design is nice... work on the date info up top - antique it like the rest of the text... totally agree with making all of the logos at the bottom white and much smaller... the design in the background at the bottom - i like the idea you're going for there, but maybe different shapes - maybe something less definitive and more off the edges... i grew up going to the racetracks down here in new orleans :-)

I agree with everyone else about the headline being too bright and not quite fitting in with the rest of the poster. Maybe try a different font to mix it up a bit. Maybe make the horse graphic in the middle a tad smaller and move down the headline? Possibly use upper/lowercase in the headline? OR- make the horse graphic smaller and try upper/lowercase font, move the headline to the bottom and smaller. It seems that maybe the name of the event and your nice illustration would be a better priority than the date and place?

I agree, make the logos smaller and white.

Nice poster though with some tweeks! Great job!
