LashOut Cosmetics

This is a website for a South Florida makeup artist. LashOut Cosmetics She does weddings, photo shoots and other events.
I'm pretty much just learning CSS. I'm having some trouble getting the portfolio page to show correctly in Firefox for Mac. I'm using someone else's image viewer which involves PHP for the portfolio, so I still have to figure it out, though I may look for a different solution. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

I think you're doing a great job. The only graphic element I might think of introducing would be an extended curved border running from approx. two thirds down on the left and running off into infinity bottom right-hand corner.
The resulting "big lash call out box" might also be a nice spot to place any contact text, legal jargon, et al.

This new graphic could be rendered in solid white and have some curl reentering the page about one third up from the bottom on the right hand side.

I was just wondering how

I was just wondering how your page will look if the testimonials and your introductory text that you have in there will switch up places. I think the testimonials are taking too much of your space. Bigger space I think should be used for more important content ... not that testimonials aren't important. I'm also hoping the testimonials won't be images 'cause in your copy they look like they are. But over all, you have a good start :).

i think the type on your buttons is too large, looks a little horsey. i'd tone those down a bit.

i'd also consider a difference in the type between the testimonial itself and the person's name, even if it's just switching to a sans serif, but maybe changing other characteristics, too (a very light gray, maybe). and if you're going to use a dash before the person's name, use an en or em dash, not a hyphen.

Thanks for the feedback all.

Thanks for the feedback all. You've given me some points to consider. It's nice to have an outside perspective.

Going in the right direction...

I would just introduce one new aspect. Eye think Eye lashes... Like the curve suggested above maybe not actual lashes but at least something to imply the feeling of them. Something that flows and stands out like well done lashes.

Main content area, below the

Main content area, below the header bar, is way too jumbled and confusing. Which is more important, the left or right content areas? Emphasize that one and make the other one less wide. Do you need testimonials on the home page? Make that a page on its own, IMO.

Otherwise nice! I'd say pump up the rockabilly angle as the girl in the photo seems to be headed that way (think Betty Page).

Quotes are too big. Should

Quotes are too big. Should be a seperate page or in the portfolio section along with the image.

services: nitpicky, but tab that text under the bullet points to match up with the text above it.

background: I might make the actual panel part black and then make the background the hot pink color. I think that may help the text be more legible. The reverse type on services is kind of hard to read. I also do not like the type you used for this reverse text-- it doesn't match the others.

Portfolio: seems like they should have before and after pictures. The multiple pictures of the same lady with the same makeup with her head slightly turned is a little odd for me. Women want to see what they are paying for-- before and after!

Tabs are HUGE! Scale it down a bit.
