Law Firm Identity

I was told to create the whole identity for a Law Firm stablished in my hometown.
I choose the Blue color 'cause represent confidence and loyalty, and those white stripes represent the bounds that link client-lawyer and the bounds between partners inside the firm, ok.
I used that type for the V in the logo because brings to mind latin language, very used in law...
the inscription in the business card says VINCIT OMNIA VERITAS that means TRUTH OVER ALL, (i really don't know how it is translated to english that phrase).
Critics please

at first glance for me it looked like the wachovia logo...
I thought the same thing. XD

I would try putting "& asociados" on the same line. Something is awkward in that text. Also, why not use the same "V" typeface that is down below on the reversed out one over the blue? Just wondering...
This totally reminds me of the Saturn logo... would be too close for me.

I don't think it's really saying law. To me it looks more like a hotel logo. Maybe it's the typeface. Also, maybe you could somehow anchor the V, it's just kind of floating out there.

Never use a script font for body type, ONLY a header. It's too difficult to read. If your client is dead-set on a script font, then choose another one. There are many out there that are much more legible than this one. It's a little too elaborate. It reminds me of a fancy 5-star restaurant.
And yes, the wavy lines are EXACTLY like the Saturn logo. I would re-work that for sure. It doesn't convey anything about law to me. Just having the letter V up there doesn't work. I would start over, to be honest.

I think the same way as you do... but my client told me to use that type in that way... i was against that but you know... the client is always right
NOT TRUE.
The logo was completely wrong before you even started if you thought that. If you know as a designer that a logo is not as effective if you can't read the script below the actual name, then tell them that. Tell them why and show them examples. Inform them that you are the professional or this business will eat you alive.

Looks like a car logo. Try taking the lines out and enlarging the "V" till it hits the edges of the box. Just an idea. And sans serif for bottom text.
