Lightscribe cds - your experiences?

Hey folks,

I'm thinking of buying a lightscribe cd burner (for burning copies of an ep i'm working on)

but... how long does it take to burn your average image?

(and why are all the examples i've seen a nasty brown-ish colour!?)

in short i'm just wondering if it would be practical to use one of these for a small scale production run of maybe 20-50 cds...

My experience with LightScribe has been very iffy. I had an HP that worked on a PC that had some really nice burns, but slow burn time (bout 20 minutes). Then when we moved to the Mac side and got a Lacie drive. Basically same burn time of 15-20 minutes depending on quality. I am not sure if you can get any colors out of the LightScribe burn. All the ones we have ever done were that brownish/black color. So take it for what it's worth. I would personally stick with stick ons because I think you can get more creative with them. Just my two cents...
