LinoType FontExplorer
pokie (1198 pencils) | Fri, 2007-04-20 19:55I am testing out this program in hopes that we can start using it in our office. I use it at home and have had absolutely no problems.
At work, I stopped using Fusion and started using this one. Now, when I open Photoshop, it tells me I'm missing all these fonts. Fonts that aren't even in the document. The problem is that I can say "ignore" but at the very last window, it locks up every time. Another girl is testing it as well and runs into the same problem. She opens up Fusion, and it works fine for her.
My husband suggested that Fusion may have "managed system fonts" which caused it to move some of these files elsewhere (hirakakupro, geezapro, times). I do not find them on my computer when I run a search.
Has anyone else ran into this problem? Photoshop is widely used in our field, so I need this fixed. I'll keep tinkering... hopefully figure it out.
p.s. YAY creativebits isn't blocked at my work anymore!!!

without any problems. On the contrary, I think it's a gem!!! I recently switched from Extensis Suitcase (which was causing me ALL kinds of problems) until somebody from CreativeBits recommended Linotype to me. I love it and haven't had any problems with Photoshop at all.
I hope this helps.

Incase anyone is having the problem I did.
Apparently Suitcase was managing my fonts or something and took them out of the system folder and moved them elsewhere. I ended up just copying the system fonts from someone else's computer and putting them on mine. Worked fine after that, same as my coworker's computer.
Thank goodness-- I hate suitcase.
Sometimes fonts that worked "perfectly" fine in Suitcase, Linotype is telling me are "not Mac OSX compatible"???? It won't load them. I've tried the version the customer sent in and the version I'd been using for Suitcase. Nothing works. Oy.
