tiska (57 pencils) | Fri, 2007-01-19 21:26This is a logo I am working on for a greek company who sell tools to factories for various industries. The main thing they want is to have the co name on the logo written in english letters, but somehow combine the 'th' with the greek letter theta (the shape I have tried to put behind the word) as apart from the 'th' sound the other letters are written the same in both languages, if you see what I mean. Im still working on it - these are my first ideas - any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated :)

It's too complicated/confusing. The theta needs to tie into the design more, it doesn't look related, partly because its shaded back so much. The ones with the circles definitely aren't working. The very last one is probably most readable, but the type needs a little work, maybe a different font for the text underneath. The "Athan" does look best in all upper case, all lower case would work too (but maybe too trendy?).
Not too sure how better to incorporate theta, but keep working at it...
I say use the symbol "Theta" in place of the lowercase "t" as if it were "theta" and "T" at the same time, and maybe loop the tail and the loop around and through the "A"
I prefer the upper right-hand font choice best, but the line of text beneath should be black
I think the circle is too strong in the ones that have it and having it extend below interferes with the bottom line of text instead of helping it... maybe consider a sunrise idea if you go that route

The theta doesnt seem to gel as it should with the rest of the design. Thanks for the comment about using the theta to represent the 't'. I had already sketched some ideas for this and I have tried this route and it seems to be working much better than the original. thanks again for your comments =)
Critique is how we all get better, you can thank me by being as helpful with mine when I post them ;)
