What is the name of the company? Weezerfitzels Inc.?
Also, thanks for getting the ball rolling on honing design skills. Should prove to be fun.
Cheers.

OK, Im new here and the reason I joined was to learn new skills and get information about graphic design and its industry. I love the idea of hosting a little logo design contest, it helps to "hone our skills" like 3dogmama said. I would be glad to join in on the contest. I just need to know more about the fantasy client, I dont like designing in the dark if you know what I mean. :)

>> Create a logo for a fictional company that makes Weezerfitzels!
1) No idea what this product is, or who buys it, where it's bought, or why.
2) Don't know company name.
1) + 2) = Stumped.
Mr. Weezer makes Fitzels, kinda like pretzels? In Germany?
OK, I'll try that.
Life Imitates Art Imitates Life!
To answer the questions:
1. What is it? Answer: A weezerfitzel is a widget.
2. What kind of company makes it? Answer: It doesn't matter
3. Who buys it? Answer: Everyone who likes weezerfitzels
In other words, it's just for fun - make it whatever you want.

I'll pass.
I think I understand, we just design a logo based on what we think a weezerfitzel is... Well this is going to be odd when we see peoples interpretations of product, hahaha.

just a little something to have fun with ;)

Hate to be "negative" here but without common constraints we're not going to have any basis for comparing the logos created. And besides, this is how logos are created in the first place: With constraints. How well we work with constraints makes great design, I feel.
We'll have lots of, "oh, that's nice", but not much else.

Very good point. But I think the purpose of this "contest" is to just see the odd and wacky ideas people get only based on he name "Weezerfitzels". Personally I think its going to be cool to see the creative designs by the end of the "contest"

I would suggest doing up a brand mark using the word Weezerfitzels, a product (you decide) for Fictional Company Who Gives A Shit? To have more fun with this, you could also come up with a tagline to go with your logo. I'm already working on mine...

I proudly, yet humbly submit my entry into this prestigious contest for review.
Very nice.
I personally think that the logo would survive just as type. There's something unique about the Z's - which is enough to stand alone.
Im guessing your american? It has an american ring to it. A lot of companies use the first letter of the name in some way right? I've always found that a bit odd.

DPC,
I looked at the davidpcrawford link, and I don't see any similarities between the logo above and anything on that site... am I missing something?
