Logo for a Church Organization
ChrisKalis (22 pencils) | Tue, 2009-04-21 19:12Hi first and foremost, I trust that the professionalism of non-Christians designers here will not be offended by me posting this a Christian logo coz we are talking about design here.
The brief:
1) TOG (Throne Of Grace) must be included
2) Hebrews 4:16 must be included
3) Objective of the group is to spread the gospel internationally
My description:
1)The logo is actually a Replogle Globe (those that you can turn it around). - International
2) The Cross goes thru the top of the globe (from heaven to earth)
3) The globe is standing on G (Grace)
4) The initial T.O.G forms theReplogle Globe
5) A printed palm for the namecard will have a die cut of the Globe (circle shape) so you can actually see thru it. Meaning looking at the world through Jesus' Grace (hand) after the crucifixion.
Colors (still working on it): Brown or wooden texture to represent a humble approach and a little bit of yellow to presents it's Glory

Lose the texture. Besides that it's really good.
'I am a patient boy, I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait'
There is a suggestion that the cross and the upstroke of the G should be an axis, but they don't center that way. The impression this goves me is that these elements are preventing the earth from rotating, fighting nature. I believe you can fix that by using a font that has a less chunky upstroke, the same width as that of the upright stroke in the cross. center both in the O.
The skin texture is creepy. And Eurocentric, by the way, which I assume is an oversight.

Yup Mara, I can't agree more about the G thingy. Will work that "Axis" part out. And ya, will lose that texture. Am trying to work out the concept of "looking at the world" Thanks guys!

Not the hand texture. Not like this.
I must say the symbolism of the logo symbol is too complex. Look at the original cross. Simple and graceful. Pick one most important thing and use that as a symbol.
It must be fun to work on such a non-commercial project.
Ya, I went back and look at it and thought that it's probably a little too complex. Did a simpler one and they like the one I've shown here. Thanks for your advice though.
It's fun working for something that one believes in and I was the one who approached them so no money involved therefore no stress.

I don't like it at all... start over.
does it have tilt on such of a degree?? i feel like i have to tilt my head to feel comfy with it... just a lil bit - nothing drastic... other than that, the axis thingy and definitely no background - i really like it... i collect globes!!! :-)

saying i dont like it at all, without adding anything productive is just rude...
Hey thanks for all the comments and given good advices (even those that didn't).
Everyone has their opinion. Take what that is useful and discard what is unneeded. Ya, I've made some changes, and took most of the advices here.
The congregation had a meeting and they wanted something like what I've shown here. Fixed the axis part, and not tilted so much already.
