I always question those online things. One time I did a kickass album cover for a Gizmodo contest and they ended up giving all the "prizes" to their friends who made crap that didn't even make sense. Most of them were amateur photoshoppers too. The deal was "mix technology with a classic rock album cover", so some dude just put Chewbacca on a cover and that got one of the top 3 spots. How does Chewbacca qualify as "technology"? Then Gizmodo wouldn't even let you post a complaint - they pulled all those responses from the blog. Frickin' poseurs.
Yeah, never trust that, happens all the time.. But we could still make this a good logo.
Use a diffrent type for the company name: look at www.dafont.com for a nice sans serif. The upper part is nice but it needs to be solid, no gradients, make it look 2010, not 1980..
Yes its a contest...and yes its a real design. Why in the hell are "designers" so stuck up? You ever wonder that? No one can ever be cool without being ignorant.
Creativebits is a blog about creativity, design and Macs. We also have a critique section where you can post your work to get opinions and a forum to discuss any design related topics.
I like it, but it should be simplified a little more i.e. less busy, less "nodes".

Thanks - I really needed that. I'm going to go curl up in a fetal position now.
