Logo Design

This is for a color theory class.
I have to bring some ideas for a logo for this luxury hotel in Barcelona, Spain.
I was trying to incorporate the style of the hotel, which is a fusion of tradition and modernity. I used mosaics from tiles. I am afraid that maybe the mosaics look more Moroccan than Spanish.

What do you think?

"I am afraid that maybe the mosaics look more Moroccan than Spanish."

Well, when I first saw this I really thought it was for a hotel from Morocco. Honest :)

The bottom centre one says:

The bottom centre one says: Vermont Ski Lodge to me. The icon looks more like a snowflake than a tile.

Colour wise, I like the bottom left--rich combination. Also like how you've merged the words and mosaics together.

Stayed at Sugarloaf in the late summer/early fall. No one there. It was a little eery, but loved the peace and quiet. Vermont is gorgeous. Loved Burlington too. (We were on the way to Montreal.)

Peace and quiet's good.

Peace and quiet's good. Actually moving north this fall onto a lake surrounded by bush. Water and woods in the summer. A ski resort 20 minutes up the road for the winter.

I hear you about the spookiness of a ski town in the off-months. I've been to the Laurentians of Quebec in the summer. Beautiful but quiet. And what a difference riding the chairlift over green rather than white slopes.

I've never been to Burlington, and have only ever driven through Vermont to get to Lake Placid, but you're right, Vermont is a beautiful state.

Made it to the summit of Whiteface Mountain--air was a little thin, but the view was worth it. Also gorgeous in the area is High Falls Gorge...to be so near such a powerful force of nature. You can't even capture that in photos.

Ooh, I spent a Christmas

Ooh, I spent a Christmas holiday in the Laurentians, two fiancés ago. It was glorious. Stowe Vermont is a little twee by comparison, but some people find its smaller scale less daunting.

But now this thread is officially hijacked! I wanted to mention, back on topic, that Spain's history of Byzantine influence makes me think the Moroccan look of some of the logos seems perfectly appropriate, especially if the hotel is courting a more international clientele, including travelers from Arab nations. I like that idea, as well as the use of Deco-inspired fonts, because it connects happily with the romantic ideas rich Westerners had about North Africa in 1920s and 1930s.

Sweet stuff so far. Let's see your next go-'round when you're ready :-)

MY VOTES

BEST OVERALL DESIGN: top left (I don't care for the stars)
BEST COLOR: None of them! I feel Spanish color are much more saturated and vibrant.
BEST SPANISH MOSAIC: bottom right...reminds me of the Aztec art\

just thoughts...
