Logo Design
seeker (23 points) | Sat, 2006-07-22 09:24Hi,
I'm designing the logo for my company, currently I do web design and hosting but I have plans to extend into print design and programming at a later stage.
I'm trying to communicate that there are endless possibilities. Is my point getting acrosseven though I haven't added a slogan yet?

You have a nice, clean identity with good use of color. However, the current use of the infinity sign appears to be isoloated and small. At that size and rotation most will have difficulty seeing the 'd' and 'p' in the logo. [It looks more like a sideways 8 now] I also fear it will look like a 'TM' sign if the logo is printed small.
The idea is certainly there but I'd recommend moving the 'd-p' infinity sign into a more promient position over the wordmark, rotating it 45 degrees CCW and increasing it's size. Pump it up and you're about there.
You could also explore integrating the infinity sign into the 'p' and 'o' of the wordmark but I like the 'dp' aspect you've got now.
Great job!
I rotated the infinity sign and made it bigger. It made quite a diffrence and is looking a lot better.
Thank You
It would be helpful if the 'original' logo wasn't completely replaced with the updated version. Doing so renders the critique a bit confusing for those who never saw the original design.
The rotation of the infinity logo certainly helped but I'm still concerned with it's overall size in relationship to the wordmark and it getting too tiny if printed or displayed at a smaller size. It would also be a nice touch to integrate the infinity logo back to a 'single point' and the name. Possibilities are endless but the company focuses everything back to a 'datapoint'. Here are a couple of possible directions.
I liked the first idea and I was thinking of ways to integrate the logo so I used it to dot the i.
I really like your modification of the logo in this version. Dotting the "i' is a nice idea, but it seems a little 'off balance' and it could be difficult to work it into a header on a website.
Looking back at your first version what about moving the current logo to the front? Either way you're onto something. Great job!
and i agree with the comments above. the symbol will be a very strong brandmark once you've cracked it. can you post the finished design?
also what is the typeface you've used? it is very cool.
cheers.
The typeface I used is called Bandy.
reminds me of the triplex font.. nice work and some great feedbacks to work with..
