Logo drafts for web business company
Anders (413 pencils) | Wed, 2011-08-17 13:59They do web app development, webshops, web design, streaming and on demand videos. Basically very web oriented.
Concept for first icon: It represents wireless wave signals. It also shows the "N" (in red) as in NetBiz, and with the added orange it makes "M" for Media. So the mark is basically a "NM". I intend to smooth out the top of the icons, making it less sharp, more wavy.
Second icon: Based on the typical UI for connection. Just arranged in a way so that it forms an "N" for NetBiz.
Color is not yet decided – it's only a placeholder to show how the last leg in the first icon will stand out to make the NM-in-one possible. I am also unsure of the type, and will likely change it to something similar, but more professional looking.
Thanks. And don't hold back.

For the top, I believe it is a good concept, however the delineation between the N and M isn't apparent enough for my liking. I'm currently just reading it as a M, however a contrasting color, or greater tonal shift might do the trick in separating the two. I believe the stacked version is the better choice of the two.
As for the bottom two I prefer the stacked version. I feel it is more cohesive.
Both branches seem to be good ones, however I feel like the first one will be a bit more fitting to the business at hand. While the bars reference connectivity, I think more of IT or electronics parts based services. The first one has a more contemporary feel that might be closer to what the company is trying to achieve.

Totally agree on the color part. I intended to have a more stressed contrast – the red and orange were just placeholders until I found something fitting.
Thanks!
I see just an M, and without the explanation would be confused as to why a company called NetBiz has an M logo. I find the black and white designs very nice. The bars are a bit cliche but it has a nice spin on it by creating the N shape. Great choice of typeface.
I feel as if I seen that first icon done before. I'll see if I can find it on the internet.
I like how you arranged the the 2nd black and white icon to form the letter "N" but its gives me the impression that the connection(or service) starts out strong and then slowly goes bad but then jumps back up to being strong again. That's something that gets me really frustrated when that happens to my cell phone or internet connection. I dont think you would want to give that impression towards the customers.
Also for the font choice, maybe adjust the kerning a little bit. The text seems so close together, espeically when you scale it down. For the bottom icon, the "t" in "NetBiz" could pass for an "l" to read "NelBiz"
EDIT: For the first icon I was thinking of a company called "Ramsey Outdoor" but it's different in the way you're using it. But like jgdesign said, a contrasting color will make that first icon a lot better because I'm just reading the icon as an M too. The first icon is the strongest of the 2 in my opinion.
Good point with the 't'. I believe some kerning adjustments together with enhancement of the 't' should fix this.
Thanks!
The black and white one is the better of two not very exciting options imho. These look like option 2 and 3 of the client's 3 logo choices. So your mission is easy now - come up with one really exciting choice.
Love that font though - what's the name of that?
"Harabara" I believe.
M concept is ups and falling downs
Signal bars concept is still annoying.
imho.
yes I'm brazilian xD
Hmm… I have never seen an m or a wave not coming down. But thanks.
