Logo for Fitness & Nutrition Company

Greetings!

This logo is for a personal trainer who is working toward opening her own facility. They will offer personal training, group exercise, and nutritional service.

I am finalizing the design before coloring to present, so any suggestions and comments are welcome.

Thanks,
--B!

Hmmmm... I'm reading 3 Hs. "Holistically" is spelled wrong. Would like to see the outlines filled in too. The bottom line is it looks like step 1 in a 3 or 4 step process.

I think it needs a little room to breathe between the text + logo, not a fan of the centered type either, maybe just have two lines? Holystically Healthy then Fitness+Nutrition.

Good job conceptually though. I can see the logo being used as something for groups and fitness, I see little people, a dumbbell and of course your H's.

"Holyistically" and healthy should be on the same line, and same point size (When placing them on the same line, reduce the point size so you don't have some crazy line length). Close up the gigantic tracking, that will also address the line length issue. If you insist on centering the type, place the entire grouping under the mark.

As of right now that mark is working for me, your type is weak. Try out my suggestions and let me know if they help.

the logo concept is interesting just need a negative space exploring and a better perspective research for the "H"s.

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Looks a little collegiate to me, for something 'holistic'... that said, the idea itself is interesting. Execution, not so much. Maybe ditch the 'emblem' look?

Regarding the text, if you don't want to do the two-line suggestion like the guys advised, then track the 'Healthy' out so each line is the same length (make a rectangle) and give a bit of space between the first two lines and the third. Just an idea...

If he tracks healthy out any more, he will run the serious risk of having it unreadable. He would need to increase the point size by 2-4 in order to get something that looked decent.

Also, with a circular mark, having a justified square beneath it will just look funky imo.

Obviously he'd have to tweak the text to work, in whatever arrangement he chooses.

And I think he should ditch the 'circular' part of the mark, or at least give it a more organic feel to fit the nature of the business he's designing for, but that's just my opinion. :)

I like. No. I really, really like.

Yes, I see three H's too, but somehow I'm not bothered by this. I also see exercise weights in the mark.

Holistic -- Characterized by comprehension of the parts of something as intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.

Yes, I see parts intimately connected in the mark. Now to be clear, the typography needs to be scrapped altogether. Maybe that was just FPO (For Position Only). Anyway, move that type underneath and centered to the mark. When you get the mark perfect, spend a considerable amount of time finding (or creating) the right typeface for the mark.

Now, about that circle around the mark. Yes, that is tired, but you are right that it should be framed. Experiment with other geometric shapes.

My first preference would be a hexagon, flat on the sides and points centered vertically. It shouldn't be a perfect hex, but one that compliments the shape of the mark it encloses.

Looking forward to seeing how it progresses. Nicely done.

Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Yeah, as mentioned by others, teeny lines are bad. I'd remove the circles completely, thicken the H's weight (I technically see four of them, but I still like it), or fill them in completely. From there, I'd also make it a vertical logo (symbol on top), and work on the typography.

Thanks SO much for all your critiques thus far. This was definitely the first step of this WIP and your suggestions definitely got my wheels turning.

The type is getting better, the symbol got a little worse.

-Thin pink stroke with a gray drop shadow will print badly. I would use a 100% pink shadow and nudge it up to add depth to the logo.

- The bulge effect ironically makes it look UNhealthy.

-Putting Healthy in a thin font makes it seem less important. Since they're in different colors, you can keep them the same weight font safely.

I agree and my client hated the changes to the mark. Thanks for the tips
