Logo for a furniture designer
demex74 (5 pencils) | Wed, 2005-12-28 10:07Hi guys, this is my first post here in cb, great site! I'm doing a logo for a young furniture designer. His works are on the same market level than www.kartell.it . Which one do you prefer, and how can I improve them? Thanks for your feedback.

I don't like 1 and 3. I really like 2. I like the way the x has a cut on the top right of the cross section. Maybe you can add a similar cut on the e and a. That would make the logo more memorable and special. Maybe it's too much, but worth the try. Congrats. Good and clean work.
Ivan is definitely right about number 2. And the cut out of the X completely makes the look of the logo. I think you should atleast try Ivan's suggestion on the E and the A, but I think it will make the logo to complicated looking. My only real piece of advice is maybe increasing the size of the "cut" in the X, because when the logo is really small, you lose it, and it is very important that people see that, because that is the most interesting part of the logo.

I agree with Ivan and carl and their comments. #2 is the most dynamic, you don't need to track out the type face like in #1 and #3. As for a hint of color on the cut off piece...be very careful. I understand the need or want to add color and it's important that your identity lives in color but what you have created with the subtle cut off piece is classy as well as a bit understated (in a good design way). What I suggest is looking at making everything 1 color and then the cut off piece 85% of that color. To strong of a color break and you will bring to much attention to the letter itself and people "may" get hung up on why you made the cut in the first place. Great job!
