Hey guys.I am working on my website and have this weird idea of having the two f’s in my name say things to each other….

Examples:

“Oh no he didn’t.” / “Oh yes, he did.”
“I’m right behind you.” / “Dude, your creeping me out”

Etc… that’s where you guys come in. I am looking for snappy phrases or dialogue that would convey a sense of playfulness and creativeness. Now, the concept in and of itself is those, so maybe fall back on something else. I want to play up the “twins” aspect.

Example:

“we’re always….” / “…finishing each other’s sentences.”
“who farted?” / “sorry, I had cheese for lunch.”

You dig? Could you help me out? I am hurting for ideas, as you can probably tell from these horrible ones. Here’s the image that goes along with all this jazz. Thanks homies.

by the way, super cool site, just joined.

There seems to be just too much going on. You have one "J" for two "J's." The dated, and not in a good way, font. And then you have the two "f's" talking. You need to make it much more simple, then work on what the "F's" can say.

Hope it helps.

I like the concept and the idea of the talking f's very much. I think every line you wrote is funny except the farting one.

You may want to ask a professional copywriter to write like 15-20 lines for you that you can use all over the site. It would be also funny if the conversation is related to the content of the page. If you would brief the copywriter that way he would have an easier job to come up with lines as well. Like for example on the contact page they could be saying something like "HALLO! Can you hear me?" - "Don't shout, I'm standing next to you." I know it sucks, but you get the idea.

One thing I don't like is the font. Eww! :D Also, I don't think it's typorgaphically allowed to distort letters. The design instantly looks off.

Maybe you can keep the letterforms very simple and just distinguish the two efs with color only. Keep it very minimalistic except the pun of them talking. That would make it stronger.

Can't wait to see this project finished! Keep it up!

Definately change the font, but when you do, turn around the last F, and make them face eachother, it will still be legible.and the idea of them conversing will come through much better.

any suggestions on a font change? I want it to be playful, yet traditional.... hmmmm.

Is that Cooper Black? Wow. What about cartoon fonts because it seems the humorous conversations you're intending might benefit from that style of typography. Fun little concept. What's the site for? Is it a blog?

If you're going to rotate through several conversations every time you load the page, maybe you could switch the Fs up too. What if one or both Fs were a different font? For instance, use an old west typeface if you're posing a like question and answer. Or, imagine using one deconstructed F: "You look terrible!" "Hangover."

I love the idea of having the f "facing" one another. Thats an awesome idea.

Also, like the other poster, I thought the j was for both your first and last name.

p.s. Cooper is starting to grow on me the more I look at this. I think if it were to be on a website, maybe have your whole name on one line? Dunno.

Hey, what's wrong with cooper black?

iancorey's picture

It's automatically "played out." Screw that! Cooper Black is a legitimate font. It's not a "comic font". It has certainly stood the test of time. It's got few, but very relevant, applications. I'd have to see the design of the rest of the site before I'd tell you to change it. And the Cooper Black ascenders/terminals make descent mouths.
But you were asking for quotes. How 'bout:
"Ugh! Cooper Black?"
"Hey, F- you, pal! I'm Cooper Black and proud!"

Get it? F-you?
