I have to make a logo for a lawyer. The logo has to include a "balance"
May you give me some critiques, bad and good :p

good start

It's a good start and definitely a plus to have multiple variants to start with. Now you need to choose one and start the development from there. The astrological sign may not be the best choice. First of all astrology is a matter of personal belief, then it looks like the OMEGA, the sign of THE END. Well I would avoid both connotations in case of some lawyers.
My personal favorite is the 3rd in the top row, but it needs a lot of development. The scales need to be a lot more visible. In their current state they would fail as a logo.

Im not really feeling these.

Im not really feeling these. The first three are very similar to DC, a skateboard apparel brand. To me the backwards C suggests deviance and non-conformity and i dont think you want to have that association with the legal system. The others feel like they could be a logo for a church....maybe its because both the words "christ" and "god" appear in the name, but that is something you will just have to work around. They also feel a little too elegant and nice to me. Remember this is a lawyer.....I think you should try something a bit more aggressive, bold, and confident. Try a copperplate font or something more democratic....like trajan? Good luck.

Thank you. Your critique are

Thank you.

Your critique are very good. My personal favorite is also the third one in the top row. What would you suggest?

Type-wise I like the 3rd one

Type-wise I like the 3rd one down on the very left column. It has the most professional appearance. The first row won't necessarily read as scales, the first 3 look like they could even be plumbing (pipes, water drops). Maybe there's another way you could suggest balance, maybe typographically or abstractly. It's just scales are so common for lawyers. I think you have a good sense of compostition, but maybe explore some different ideas.

CONCEPT!

So, it had to include a balance, but did you develop a concept behind that? Your "logos" are all over the map, create a concept, and design around it. Otherwise it is computer generated garbage.

I'd recommend striking any

I'd recommend striking any of the logos above that include the initial 'C' or 'G'. :) Seriously, you can do better!

Colors are somewhat drab, but at least they feel dependable. As for balance, scales have been done to death.

Here's some other law logo examples to start you on your research. Check out the Clark and Cunningham one. I love that one (search for 'law' on this page for 6 or so logo samples):

Maybe some research will set you off on a more defined path?
