Logo opinion
Ettelvina (7 pencils) | Tue, 2009-05-12 17:37Hi!
This logo is for a decoration and arquitecture company. That´s called "conceito mood", it´s like "mood concept" in english.
They want something very minimal.
They liked the symbol a lot, but i'm a little lost. I would really appreciate opinions. Thanks!

I'm confused. Where's the arabic script and bad use of color?

It´s two different symbols.
'Anonymous' was making a bad joke about another poster's relentless postings.
This logo is good. I like the top one, but the yellow needs some tweaking, it looks really terrible on my screen, and almost makes my eyes hurt. I think if you added about 5-7%k in there, you'd have a great design.

I like this a lot. My preference is the top one, with the color. It doesn't bother me the way it bothers GregSauce. Our monitors are probably just calibrated a little differently. But if it's a problem for even one of us here, and we all have pretty good monitors, that's a warning that you might need to choose a more Web-friendly color.
I think the three words in your tagline should not be part of the logo. You can use them in advertising and so on, or even a business card, but the logo should stand alone. When you do use the tagline, I think it should be larger relative to the logo.
The little vertical dots between CONCEITO and MOOD are a nice touch, but they might be too small to have the impact you want. You might want to try using fewer, but larger dots.

ps: If you use the second logo, I think you should separate the C and M the way you did in the top one.

i like the first one because in the logo u can see very clear C and M and that is why i said ... About the color on my screen i can't see it better what color will be used i think more better and senior designer are right here so you can find very nice and goood sugestion. As i got on my logos and also remember what Gregsause said .. Try it

i like the cut in the first one better, too.
and i'll agree that the green is a tough color. it's a color that will vibrate with a lot of other colors and one that can be too light to really pop the way one might hope it does. it also may not work well as a second color in print, which may or may not be a big deal to them, but if, for example, they wanted to set some text in that color in a two-color piece, it may not read very well, especially at smaller point sizes (like in a header or footer). a little darker would be a bit better (although it's hard to say w/o knowing the pantone and seeing a swatch).
also check and see how that color prints in CMYK on a couple of different devices, if you can. you want to make sure they don't regret that color. does it look the same in pantone coated and uncoated?
That's a good point about what using the spot color in display type. It could be reversed out of sinuous black bars that spin off the logo shapes, of course, but that would be limiting, and possibly really really ugly ;-)
Once again, good work!

The top is the best thing posted on here in a while(especially with last week's crapfest).
Maybe play with the green some. I don't mind the color, but like some said it may not work well in print.
The top logo is excellent, even better than some of the stuff on the new logo thread on the front page. Scrap the second, it's just a less developed version of the top.
'I am a patient boy, I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait'
one more thought. the bar in between "conceito|mood" is very thin. it will disappear at any smaller sizes (and is already faint). if you had to reverse it out in print (white logo on dark background) and offset print, dot gain could make it disappear.
That bar is actually a rule of teeny dots -- or so it seemed to me. I suggested having fewer and making them larger. One way or the other, yes it's disappearing and needs help.

Thanks a lot to all of you!
You all made good points ;) and gave me nice ideas.
I have to re-think the color and the bar... ;)
I would love to see what the first logo would look like in all gray. I like the break in the 1st logo but I agree with GregSauce the yellow does vibrate maybe pick a more muted yellow that would match the grays mutedness (yeah I made it up and it comes with had jesters). Overall very strong logos, thanks.

Take out the tagline and thicken that vertical rule (it's going to get lost more often than not when you try to reduce it and print it, and you've got yourself a pretty good logo!

I like it too.
Definitely make that colour darker, give it more OOMPH! The tagline usually isn't my thing but this one is classy.

I like the first one the most cuz anything with more than one color attracts me. And try taking away that last swoosh after the "M", just see how it looks w/o. Other than that, Its simple and effective!
