I would be honered if you would give me some tips on how to improve this logo I designed for a primary school.
Ofcourse I wil add some color, but I thought starting without color distraction was better.

is it a child running towards you with open arms or is it a child running away screaming? It's an interesting, but confusing image.
Time to rethink... You say you aren't a graphic designer, but pick up a pencil and paper and start sketching out ideas. A school is about a group of children, not just the one. That should be your start. Sketch enough and you might strike gold.
Is there anything that makes this school unique?

yeah right now everything seems generic, do some mindmaps, some image collection, and then some sketches! The font is nice, but I don't think it's appropriate for a primary school!
Jan, please excuse the assy comments youve received. some people here are typical online douchebags taking comfort that they never have to actually MEET the people they insult. and some others have shaky english so sometimes they sound less helpful than they intend.
so, first things first you say "i'm not a 'real' graphic designer, more product oriented." does that mean that youre an industrial designer? can you clarify.
as far as your design goes. its not in and of itself bad. i just think its not well suited as a primary school logo. monkeys comments about the icon are right on. its a bit to ambiguous and looks as much like a frightened child as a jubilant one...
and the type choice could as easily be suited to a office complex, landscape architect or chemical lab. now im not saying you need to go use some doofy kiddie font or anything. id just like to see something a bit warmer. a bit more approachable...
you need to give this some more thought. and as others have mentioned, do some more sketches or at least riff on it some more electronically.
dont be put off by the butt-holes here. do come back and show us some more variations
