Logo revised
Artqlated Design (32 pencils) | Wed, 2009-09-30 19:28The concept in my logo is the word articulated. As in consisting of segments held together but that are flexible. The word is set up to be serious, but the emoticon is so it doesn't look too formal, an smiling face :D. I hope this clarifies the other critique that I accidentally deleted.

The whole "articulated" angle is a real stretch, imho. You'll be explaining that to every client and most of them will not "get" it, if you ask me. Personally, I think you'd be doing yourself a real favor by considering other angles. A clever concept is one that needs no explanation.
I'd almost want to see this in a bolder font, and both fonts the same. The serif isn't helping this at all.
It regards to the name, there are much weirder names out there (see: Leaky Penny) But if you're going to have to explain your name, try and make it something quirky that will help break the ice (see: Leaky Penny's failed drunken british hip hop career).

Thanks. I made this design a while ago when I didn't know of the existence of this forum... I think I will redesign and rethink something better.

I've been returning over and over to this design, but it's still blah...sorry.
My initial impression was that you dabbled with a SYMBOL alphabet, scribbled a bit on your tablet, and voila the birth of a logo and business card. What is the thought behind your text mark? And let's not fob it off as an emoticon with a pointy head...
And the play on "ARTICULATED" is not coming off right to me. I'm reading it as "Are" "Tee" "Q" "LATED". Period. Where's the "TIC" other than in my left eye now?
Nothing more to articulate....

I'm getting to like this look. :)
I'm with Ivan. I rather like it.
i think it's interesting. i do kinda relate it to AD as in years after christ's death, though.
i defiantly enjoy it now! Thumbs up
