logo Suggestions

I think the hat is not so clear and need improvements.

The tagline could be bigger. and separate from logo ok?

this is way, WAY better than your last effort!
but sadly, still retains a good bit of WTF?

i get that youre trying to work the union jack into the cap. but its not working. it looks more like architectural trusses. or a cross section of a wing...

and the BTS font choice is WAY too "art deco"

Im with all of the above - and yes 2000% better than where you where, but needs still 100% improvement - keep at it!!

Put it in Black & White - it is easier to dissect (i think), color can take away from the design, color should be added last.

Maybe the "S" as a tassel, maybe connected to the hat?

Another option, the "T" is so stiff and sharp compared to both the "B" and "S", maybe have it follow the curve of the hat?

Third option, have the hat alone with title below....?

Forth option - I feel like the flag flattens out the 3D-ish-ness of your design, maybe the top flat part of the hat is the flag, and the band that goes on your head is a solid?

I like the direction, I will definitely be checking back!

I would ditch BTS entirely and leave the hat as well as the tagline. Make it all black and white besides the union jack. Make the flag look like the flag.

#2 has some potential but you need to lose that black hat stroke, use none and on other details try to use blue or red.

the icon is getting better but your type decisions are still very bad.

I see British and education, you could incorporate the home element too, it can be as a minute detail imo. the union flag looks clip-masked rather a part of the logo, do loose the black outlines and use fills.

Lose everything that's black in the second one except the tassel and the center button on top. Get rid of everything else that's black. Now color the tassel, the string and button blue. Center the button on top in the middle (it's not centered here). Let the tassel hang down off the hat a little - you need a little more line there. Bam - that's it. I don't think you need the bottom of the hat. Just the top part of the hat at that same angle with blue tassel. A 2 color logo mark - now find a font that goes with it.

@DS perspective is WAY beyond the OPs paygrade...

#2 is heading in the right direction, I am glad you went that route!!! I agree with the opinions stated before me.

Right idea - now work on the execution... tilt the hat back a little, make the tassel a little larger and hang farther down. Then EXPLODE that text - make the name carry the same weight as the mark. Is there some way you can suggest a student or the bottom of the hat using the text? Find a way to tie it all together and make it work. There's a valid idea here.

Too much angle on the hat now - go back some. BEEF up the type - think in totally different proportions - 3 or 4 times the size you have it now.

I don't think you're capable of designing. Your work is too much of a hit or miss, and unfortunately you won't always have a team of 7 to 8 designers to hold your hand.

The button at least needs to be central to the extremely geometric flag, and your final attempt looks like your font was missing when you outputted it from quark Xpress and it used a default alternative like courier.

Anyway - nerdiness aside. You may have been going with some retro thing with the courier font, but it's not working. There's no integrity with the font, it looks a bit weak. Why not Helvetica, if you're sticking to very basic fonts?

I'd also play around with negative space. maybe you don't necessarily need the other side of the flag? It might not work, but worth a go as the stringy bit already would suggest the other side of the 'mortar board' hat (Yes I did have to google the name of that), and it might open some doors for your design.

I'm very tempted to do it for you, but in my opinion - and in defence of Leaky - I really think that you need the practice and should work and work at it. But against Leaky's cynicism, I think that you've come one hell of a long way since the first attempt (which isn't displayed unfortunately).

I mean, that was off the wall man - BIG TIME..

Leaky - did you see the first one? That was whacko jacko. But the progression has been very good. You just seem to fall down these obvious holes - two steps forward, one step back.

I think that your development would be a good case study to show beginners and how you ultimately acheived success, but I just hope that you get better; and to paraphrase Leaky; hope you are able to do it on your own, as there won't be people always there to hold your hand.
